Natcap Releases New TNFD Whitepaper and TNFD Preparedness Assessment Tool

London, UK – 12 September 2024 – Natcap, a pioneer in the field of nature intelligence, has today announced the release of a new whitepaper to help organisations make sense of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) recommendations. The report aims to introduce companies to TNFD and guide them through the complexities of integrating nature-related assessments into their financial reporting. In conjunction with the report, Natcap has also launched a new TNFD preparedness assessment tool designed to help organisations evaluate how prepared they are to address the TNFD recommendations.

The TNFD framework, designed similarly to the successful Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), sets the bar for understanding and reporting on nature-related financial impacts. The whitepaper gives further support for companies on how to follow the TNFD’s LEAP approach, which includes: locating their interface with nature; evaluating dependencies and impacts; assessing risks and opportunities; and preparing to report. 

As an additional tool, Natcap's newly launched preparedness assessment is tailored to help companies determine how prepared they are to begin disclosing against TNFD recommendations. The survey tool gathers information about steps companies have taken to prepare for TNFD disclosure, including:
